Race meeting licence contravened

TurffonteinPhumelela will be considering further engagement and all options of finding a workable solution in the best interests of the sport of horseracing and all parties involved.

That was the word from Betting Executive Rob Scott in response to the Sporting Post on the news that the company had been fined R5 million, half of which was suspended for five years, for a contravention of a condition of its Race Meeting licence.

The Gambling Board also requires Phumelela to provide them with a  detailed submission of a proposal for their levying of a reasonable broadcasting fee going forward.
