San Vicenzo Disqualified

Trainer LJ Human found guilty

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that an Inquiry was held at the Head Office of The National Horseracing Authority on Wednesday, 23 July 2014.

Trainer Mr L J Human was charged with a contravention of Rule 73.2.4 in that he was the Trainer responsible for the horse SAN VICENZO who ran in and won the 9th race at Flamingo Park Racecourse on 12 May 2014.

After the race, a plasma specimen taken from this horse disclosed, upon analysis, the presence of Propantheline, which is a prohibited substance in terms of the Rules of the National Horseracing Authority.

Mr Human pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Mr Human guilty of the charge and imposed a penalty of a fine of R10 000,00.

Mr Human has the right of appeal against the finding and the penalty imposed.

Furthermore in terms of Rule 72.3.2 SAN VICENZO is disqualified from this race and the stake monies are to be returned for re-distribution in terms of Rule 67.7.8.
