Jimmy The Rich writes that Kasimir from the powerful Justin Snaith stable returns to the Western Cape after a successful raid to KZN.

He should have finished closer in the Gr1 Mercury Sprint last time as he hung in the latter stages.

He has won three times, finished second three times and third once from nine starts over this course and distance. The 7yo gelding takes a drop in class and should be too good for this field.

Candice Bass-Robinson saddles Silent Trigger in Race 1. He caught the eye on debut over 1000m on this course.

He was green in running, but the manner in which he finished off his race was impressive.

The son of Twice Over would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

Liam Tarentaal, Jason Smitsdorff & Grant van Niekerk will not be riding today as they are medically indisposed.

The winter course false rail is at its original position with a 2m spur at the 470m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the second at 13h00
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third at 13h35
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 14h10
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h50
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the seventh race at 16h00
