Met Day – The Fun Hard Work Begins

TAB betting opens Monday 22 January

The jam-packed thirteen race Sporting Post Met Day digital racecard is now available.

The Sun Met will be included in the racecards for the Turffontein and Greyville race meetings on the same day, but TAB customers must select Kenilworth as the venue for certain bets on the race.

This is to avoid a repeat of the Summer Cup race meeting at Turffontein in November, when the Cup was included in both the Turffontein and Kenilworth racecards.

Sun Met

The Turffontein meeting had to be postponed and because the Cup was a related race for all bet types in both racecards, it was not possible to pay out winning bets on Kenilworth until after the meeting.

Amtote has not yet provided a software solution for those issues and consequently only multi-race bets at Greyville and Turffontein will be related or linked to the Sun Met meeting at Kenilworth. These bets are Double, Pick 3, BiPot, Place Accumulator, Pick 6 and Jackpot.

TAB customers taking Win, Place, Swinger, Exacta, Trifecta and Quartet bets on the Sun Met must select Kenilworth (WEST CAPE on the betting form) and Race 9.

“Not linking all bets will also ensure that no races are lost at Greyville or Turffontein if racing at either venue is delayed because of the weather,” said TAB boss Vee Moodley. “The meeting can resume at any point, even after the Sun Met, and no races will have to be abandoned.”

TAB betting opens this Monday 22 January.
