Jimmy The Rich writes that trainer Paul Peter saddles Mufasa in Race 6 and he is the best bet on the card. He has won both of his career efforts to date in impressive fashion.

He showed good speed last time, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition.

The son of What A Winter returns from a 16-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. He carries a big mass of 61.5kgs, but has class and should remain unbeaten.

Mr Flood from the Lucky Houdalakis stable takes his place in Race 7. He tried the 1450m last time and did not see out the distance.

He finished 0.7 lengths behind Vaseem in his penultimate start. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

He has won three times from four starts over this course and distance. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of the son of Pathfork.

The false rail is at zero on the back straight and bend with a 2.5m spur at the 600m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 13h00
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h35
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h10
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h50
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h25
